Who is Ian Schrager?
Ian Schrager is an American entrepreneur, hotelier and real estate developer, often credited with co-creating the ‘boutique hotel’ style of accommodation. Originally, he gained fame as co-owner and co-founder of Studio 54, and also founded the Palladium nightclub and the Morgans Hotel Group. He has worked with acclaimed designer Philippe Starck on many of his hotels, including the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, the Hudson Hotel in New York, where he fully realized his ‘hotel as lifestyle’ concept, and St. Martins Lane Hotel and Sanderson Hotel in London, among others.
